YAHHH! Our frogs came in today. We had to let them warm up, as it was extremely cold outside! After the frogs had warmed up just a little, a few students in the afternoon class and I set about putting the frogs in their new homes. First, we had to plant the Elodea, or the water grass in the tanks to provide a hiding place for the frogs, as well as add to the oxygen level to our classroom. Next, the frogs were gently placed in each tank and allowed to swim around and get used to their new home. After the frogs had warmed up to their homes, I fed them just a bit, not knowing how far these creatures had traveled to get to us. In the wild, these African Dwarf Frogs are found in Asia. The frogs proved not to be too active upon their initial arrival. I can't really blame them as it's too cold to be active! Perhaps after a good night's rest, and some 'by themselves time" the frogs will be more receptive to people in the morning. Stay tuned to see some exciting blogs coming up!

Hi SR17! Well, I'm not sure yet if one of them died or not. There were a couple looking pretty limp, but when I tapped on the tank, they stirred around a little bit. I fed them, gave them elodea, and allowed them to just get settled in. We'll see what happens in the morning!
